I get all excited this time of year! I truly turn into some sort of entertaining nut. Since backing off the corporate world I’ve taken up things I never had time before to do.  One of them is baking. With Thanksgiving fast approaching I decided to try baking a pie from scratch.  As with most things I do … I’m an all or nothing kind of gal … I researched the shit out how to do it. Today I made a test run. Got to admit I was a bit nervous. Cakes, cookies and cupcakes are a breeze but the pie is a true test. I made an apple-cranberry pie. It was a mile high when I put it all together. In the oven it went, only to come out smelling and tasting amazing! Woo wee! Success

So then I get the idea that I’m going to make homemade pasta. Papperdelle. I think I need more practice with that one. LOL. But I did make an amazing meal:

• Papperdelle with butternet squash and blue cheese
• Grilled BBQ pork chops with my own BBQ sauce
• Spicy-hot pumpkin parmesan scones
• Grilled asparagus

Poured some pino noir and lit some candles for a very romantic dinner. Pie later with some vanilla ice cream and I officially have to spend the next 48 hours in the gym working that all off.

I am really looking forward to all the entertaining coming up with the holidays. Who wants an invite to my house?
